Kasriel K. Eilender, M.D. ---- In this fast paced, rapidly changing city you have been a constant presence in the midst of

the people of Yorkville, serving them as a doctor, neighbor and friend for thirty-five years. During those years, you have seen patients not only in Doctors Hospital, now Beth Israel Hospital North, but in office settings, on the streets, in local shops and at home. In fact, you have become a legend in this community for house calls to elderly shut-ins and the extension of free medical services for the poor.

As a survivor of five concentration camps in World War II, you have dramatic and poignant experience of the miracle of life. Since then, as a physician, you have brought your patients the miracle of life in healing, hope and wholeness.

Nominated by your colleagues who have also experienced your compassion, personal warmth and genuine humility, we honor your life-long dedication tonight with this award for Wholeness of Life.
