This photo taken in 1917

of the gentleman in civilian

clothes, (in the top row) behind

the World War I German soldiers,

is my father.

In those days the German Army

treated the Jews much differently.

There was respect for their skills

and abilities.

My father worked for a supplies

company that provided for the

German Army. He had great

responsibilities that earned him

many privileges.
