Russian Colonel Soloncev

One day after the liberation of Camp

Langenbielau a staff car entered the camp

carrying two Soviet Jewish Officers.

One of them was Lieutenant Colonel

Soloncev, the senior officer who

was an aide to General Gusev,

Commander of the 21st Soviet Army,

who amazingly battled his way

through from distant Stalingrad.

Lieutenant Colonel Soloncev,

impressed with my fluent Russian,

kind of adopted me and employed

me as an Aide.
